Thandi -- A Poaching Surviver

Thandi is the poster child of a rhino anti-poaching campaign. She survived a brutal poaching when her horn was cut out of her face. A will to live, a team of veterinarians and unprecedented plastic surgery saved her life. Thandi gave birth to a calf two months after this picture was taken at the Kariega Game Reserve, Eastern Cape, South Africa. An event to celebrate.
